Migration Successfull – away from .mac
Never have I been happy with the low bandwith of the .mac platform
when I used iDisk. But over time I also grew unhappy with the other
.mac services.
- Spam coming to my .mac email account
- synchonization between computers didn’t properly work for any of the
following:
– keychain
– bookmarks
– contacts
The calendar publishing function was the only feature reliably working.
Cut a long story short I decided some months ago to start migrating
everything away from .mac, pretty much when Google introduced their
calendar.
I ended up with Google where all I need is available and free.
In the next days-not-weeks I will be posting step-by-step guides on migrating:
- mail
- contacts
- calendar
- bookmarks
Note: I love Apple but .mac is just not good enough. Doesn’t work
properly and costs 99 dollars per year.
