Zoom with Mac OS X 10.4.8
since the last OS upgrade (10.4.8) you can easily zoom in on the cursor area by holding the CTRL key and using the scroll function of your track pad (ie. using two fingers to move forwards and backwards).
limitations: track pad scrolling must be enabled in the keyboard & mouse preferences where zooming options can be set; only works on macs that support two-finger use of track pad.
