Migration from .mac: Calendar
I finally found a free online WebDAV host for calendars so now instead of publishing your iCal calendar to .mac you can change the setting and publish it (or several, in fact as many as you like) to icalx.com. That’s how simple the migration is. Click the calendar in iCal, in the menu click ‘Calendar’, then click ‘Unpublish…’, then same again but ‘Publish…’, select Private Server instead of .mac and enter the details given after the account setup.
At icalx.com you can set up an account in a few seconds and then use it to publish you iCals to private or public view and even get a link to view them in a browser. Since the service is for free, the google ads are appropriate.
If you would prefer not to have any ads on the html version you can get the same service without them from www.venuecom.com .
The other alternative is of course to use the Google Calendar but migrating your current iCal is a bit more difficult. You first subsribe to your iCal when it is still published to .mac, then copy all entries to your Google Calendar, then you stop publishing your iCal and instead subscribe to your Google Calendar after which you can view (only) your calendar in iCal.
