iPhone for Europe

There was no mentioning about it at IFA by either Apple or any of the EU operators present.

Rumor has it that there will be an announcement concerning the iPhone for Europe at the Apple Expo, starting 30 September.

At yesterday’s event, SJ announced that they will stop the 4GB version and lower the price of the 8GB version to $399. In the US people have shown that they are willing (of course not happy, but at least willing) to pay up to $599 for the top end iPhone. The price mark of $599 or it’s EU equivalent, I’m guessing €399, would allow for more storage capacity and even the 3G hardware. So as far as indications go it is certainly possible to see a new iPhone version with more storage and 3G support but it looks like will have to sit tight another 3 weeks. From what I can remember Apple said some time ago that it will announce its exact plans for Europe in September so unless there is another smaller event, the Apple Expo would be the one.
