Third degree rumor! Through a friend I’ve heard from a source within O2 that they intend to run online checks on their network to decline those iPhones the use of the network that have not been properly activated [...]
According to an interview with O2 UK chief Matthew Key, the 3G version of the iPhone is due in the second half of 2008. This piece of information is coming from his negotiations with Apple for securing the exclusvie UK deal for the iPhone.

OK, so it is somewhat official. Apple is bringing out a new firmware version for the EU launch of the phone.
It will include international keyboard support, a fix for the TIFF exploit (thus rendering the jailbreakme.com solution useleee) as well as other security updates. Oh, and of course it will attempt again to brick [...]
Here’s a funny one! If you receive a text message from some service that sends its name in the sender/originator field, the iPhone doesn’t show you the message content, yes sometimes it does not even show you the full name.
