iPhone 2008

Based on everything I’ve seen at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and what has been subsequently announced I believe we will see a 3G version of iPhone in the 2nd half of the year. 3G radios are getting smaller and less powerhungry, NANDs also get smaller and cheaper. So we’ll probably see one of the following 3 combinations:

A: 8GB-3G iPhone @ $399, 16GB-3G @ $499
B: 16GB-2G @ $399, 16GB-3G @ $499
C: 16GB-3G $399, 32GB-3G @ $499

All European operators have 3G networks, some paid a lot of money for the licenses, others (I think only France) didn’t, and from what I know AT&T also supports 3G but I could not verify this when writing this post since their technology site has not been updated since 2004 (!!!). http://www.wireless.att.com/about/our-technology.jsp
