Eurogamer Expo 2008

Thanks to a tip by a very lovable person I got to know about the Eurogamer Expo (http://expo.eurogamer.net/). The event was held at the Old Truman Brewery in the East End, off Brick Lane.

Overall it was not the biggest expo but that didn’t matter too much since they showed so many titles before their respective release dates to make up for the relatively low number of stations. I’d say they had around 15 PSPs, 15 NDSs, 1o Wiis, 2-3 dozen XBOX 360 stations with ~45″ HD displays, another 2-3 dozen PLAYSTATION 3 stations also with ~45″ displays, plus one special corner for Streetfighter IV with consoles and arcade machines, another specials corner with 3XS systems showing off games using Dolby Surround headphones (pretty good), and last but not least another special corner for Gears of Wars 2 with two islands of 4 consoles each.

Half of the second floor was dedicated to recruitment with booths of design and game development companies, the other half was made up of 2/3 Farcry 2 XBOX 360 stations with 20″ displays, and about 5 3XS systems showing indie studio games like “Braid” which is quite fun actually.

Of the games shown my favourites were:
