PowerCurl: Salvation for hot Mac power adapters with long cables
Now, I don’t know about you, but my mac power adapter gets quite warm when it happens to lie on carpet, bed or couch, not that that’s a surprise. Also these pop-out claps only help to organize the thin cord leading to the mac. Wouldn’t it be great to have a little gizmo that not only helps to keep the power adapter aired but also lets you organize the full length of the cables on both sides? Hit the Read more link to meet the solution, named “PowerCurl“.
This great little gizmo was developed over at quirky.com as a crowd-sourced endeavour following the initial submission by a user. Here’s how it works:
- You literally just pop the PowerCurl onto your 60W or 85W edition (both sizes are available upon checkout), and you’re set.
- It adds minimal bulk as the full length of the cables fill out the empty spaces around the power adapter. The design of the rims is helpful for quick roll up or off.
- When the whole thing rests on a surface the power adapter is elevated, thus letting air flow through and cool the power adapter down again.
The best about this neat little thing is the prize. PowerCurl is available for just $9.99 plus packaging and posting, the latter going to plenty of countries on this planet.
