Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard - Timeline Update

Apparently Apple is nearing the Release Candidate stage of their development.
If none of the remaining milestones is missed Leopard will be ready for shipping late October.

Apple said that Leopard would be available in Spring 2007. As I understand the announcements on WWDC for beginning of June, they will issue the fully featured beta to the developer community.
Summer technically starts 21st June, so having a beta out there beginning of June when it is technically still spring time, somewhat lives up [...]

From what I could gather on the net, Apple’s technology Rosetta, which allows to run applications coded for PowerPC architecture on an Intel Mac is not a development of their own but an implementation of the product QuickTransit from Transitive.

Get Quicktime to support more video formats

If you want Quicktime to play videos using not-so-standard codec, theanswer is out there.

A convenient side-effect is that Front Row will play all kinds of filetypes once you installed the necessary components for Quicktime.
