Now, I don’t know about you, but my mac power adapter gets quite warm when it happens to lie on carpet, bed or couch, not that that’s a surprise. Also these pop-out claps only help to organize the thin cord leading to the mac. Wouldn’t it be great to have a little gizmo that not only helps to keep the power adapter aired but also lets you organize the full length of the cables on both sides? Hit the Read more link to meet the solution, named “PowerCurl“.
Call it a symptom of my having to work in a highly restrictive IT environment (I concur with this post btw.), but I feel myself drawn to the wide open spaces of working on cool things with smart people using wicked tools, preferably online. I did some research on the latter part and wanted to share it with you. Here is the “Getting Things Done Online” Special.

End of this month Google will open up Google Wave to non-developer users, 100,000 of them actually.
I’m looking forward to continue testing, what has great potential to become an email/IM and collaboration killer. I’ll especially enjoy experiencing to use the service on more responsive infrastructure. Google Wave started off to be a bit sluggish on the sandbox used for the beta.
What follows, you’ll only be able to see if you currently have access to the Google Wave Sandbox. Continue reading »
Today is the day when Apple adds Snow Leopard to its online stores around the globe, and after testing 10.6 for a few months now I can highly recommend the upgrade, especially at the low low price of $29, or £25 (not sure how that currency conversion worked out!).
Tested on a 2008 13″ Unibody MacBook as well as the latest 2009 15″ Unibody MacBook Pro, the speed increase slightly different but equally significant and noticeable throughout the system, from start-up to any software you wish to use.
Add to that several UI changes to clean up the experience or make Expose even more useful, allowing cross-system drag’n'drop via the app icons on the dock, just to name one example.
The developer versions had a few kinks here and there but now in the final version these will all be sorted out.
Ludicrous speed, commander!
Are you sure, Sir?
Y..es, YES!
Pre-order now, shipping 28 August 2009. Enjoy.
Despite the fact that Internet Explorer 6 is 8 (eight) years old it is still used by about 14.5% of all internet users (source: http://bit.ly/2WdDGO). How come?
Common opinion is that the IE6 population is largely composed of companies who still haven’t upgraded their staff’s computers to a recent/decent browser for whatever reason.
The internet community has had it! Join the fight against IE6. Visit http://hey-it.com for a selection of posters you can print and hang up in your office where appropriate to motivate your IT folks.
Join the revolution and just this once feel good about being a snitch! Visit http://ie6offenders.com and report a company for still using this ancient browser.
If you are blogging or have any other web-sites you can help the cause yourself. For example, I installed a WordPress Plugin that shows a warning when an IE6 user visits the site.
Old browsers, built for static html pages, are not fit for duty anymore and hold back the natural evolution of the web. Whatever reason behind the lack of company upgrades from IE6 may be, and however valid it may be, after 8 years isn’t it time to go with, well, time?
Together we can kill IE6. /nods
