The US have made a leap over Europe in the acceptance of e-tickets. Most airlines accept presentation of e-tickets and their barcodes via mobile phone and don’t require a print-out any more.

Based on everything I’ve seen at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and what has been subsequently announced I believe we will see a 3G version of iPhone in the 2nd half of the year. 3G radios are getting smaller and less powerhungry, NANDs also get smaller and cheaper. Here’s a funny one! If you receive a text message from some service that sends its name in the sender/originator field, the iPhone doesn’t show you the message content, yes sometimes it does not even show you the full name.

There was no mentioning about it at IFA by either Apple or any of the EU operators present.
Rumor has it that there will be an announcement concerning the iPhone for Europe at the Apple Expo, starting 30 September.

First, a little update on the still long anticipated iPhone for the EU. So far we have confirmation that Apple will partner with O2 in the UK, T-Mobile in DE, Orange in France and the latest I have read was TIM in Italy.
